Lisa Wilk’s life has become a holding pattern. For the last year, she has sought a donor to give her a new, healthy kidney. First, Wilk looked to her sister and brother to give her an organ. When both people were ruled out as potential donors, she started searching her remaining alternatives. To Wilk, a teacher at the Community School in Naples, they are frustratingly few.
