Bad economy? Collier commission candidates raise nearly $300,000

The five Republicans running for the two open seats on the Collier County Commission have raised a combined total of more than $297,000 for their war chests, according to a Daily News records search of each candidate’s financial records from Jan. 1, 2009, through July 27. The financial records include filing information from the most recent campaign treasurer report, due July 23. The most recent reports cover contributions and expenditures from April 1 through July 16.
